You can donate blood as long as you don't have gonorrhea, chlamydia, or HIV/AIDS. They do not test you before you give blood, but they will test your blood before they give it to someone else. They may call the number provided to tell you of any STDs they find.

You are asked many questions before the blood is taken from you and even then, the blood is tested for everything before it is used for someone else.

they'll ask if you lie they still take samples and test the samples before screwing up people in need of blood

I'm pretty sure that if you said you had an STD you wouldn't be allowed to donate blood. I'm also pretty sure the blood gets tested for STDs before it's used. Basically, there's a screening process involved with giving blood that is in place to weed out potentially contaminated blood. But if you know that you have an STD/STI, you shouldn't give blood.

roboticism

No. First you are asked a series of questions read from a DHF; this is the "screening process". They will also ask if you are donating blood for the free HIV test. If you know you have an STD, why would you want to give your infected blood to someone else, possibly a child? (not necessarily you but anyone) To answer your other question; Yes. The blood gets tested after you donate to make certain it is safe for transfusion.

NES COLLECTOR

You can donate it but I don't think they would let someone else have it without it being tested. That would be a big problem if they didn't have some type of procedure for it. So as far as testing you before hand no they don't do that but they would test it after you have had it donated.

Unfortunately, I think the blood banks don't want people with STDs or HIV because they are worried other people might get it. But, they will probably ask you first if you have anything like that, and I believe it's a crime to lie to them in that case if, I'm not mistaken.

They always ALWAYS test blood before they put it into banks. After you donate it they have your name and number. If your blood is unusable because you have a disease then they call you. They don't ever let contaminated blood into the blood banks.

M'aiq the Liar

People with STD are not allowed to donate blood. I guess they will ask you about your medical history and of course, they should test your blood before putting it into use. They should do that just for the blood recipients' safety.
