Is it normal to have a deformed and rather odd feeling tonsil?

Tonsil stones turning into tonsillitis?

So just last week i had tonsil stones and my throat has been soar the last three days so when i got home today i started feeling achy and feverish and my throat started hurting worse so i looked in the mirror finding out i have tonsillitis! is it normal to get tonsillitis after have tonsil stones?
