How do I get rid of a painful mouth ulcer?

How to get rid of this mouth ulcer fast?

  • I have one on the left side of my mouth that hurts so bad when I eat (sometimes) and when I try to lick my lips. Its not huge but it gives out ultra pain and I've tried Listerine AND salt water but both do not work, I've had this for at least a day now and since my toothache is healing I can finally enjoy ice cream but I can't! Because of this stupid mouth ulcer that's white and stiff and makes my mouth hurt! Please how can I get rid of this mouth ulcer fast without making it hurt or grow bigger? Thanks so much!

  • Answer:

There's not really a fast way to get rid of it. It heals up on it's own. They're mostly caused from too much acidy foods and sometimes caused from stress. You can purchase some type of numbing liquid or gel at your grocery store where the oral care things are. The two brands that I know of are oragel and ambesol. If you choose to purchase one, put a little on your finger and put it on the sore in your mouth. You can apply it as often as you need. Just a heads up though, more is not better. If you put too much at one time, your entire mouth and throat is gonna be numb. Basically what it's gonna do is numb the sore for about an hour or so, depending on how much you eat and drink. That way, you can eat and your tongue won't wander over there and start playing with it and irritate it more. Good luck!
