So could i Have mono without a fever? or with a low one? please & thanks. ;]

  • Answer:

It sounds like you did have a fever though. 103. That's a high fever. Sounds like you have something. Don't know what but if the antibiotics don't work, then it's probably viral, and there are very few illnesses that cause tonsilitis other than strep and mono. Strep is bacterial and mono is viral. If its mono, you might be sick for a while and you don't want to share drinks with anyone or kiss them. It can cause a month or longer of just feeling tired and kind of sick even after the initial fever and tonsilitis goes down. But FYI, viral illnesses can have a low grade fever like having the common cold or mono. It's mostly the bacterial illnesses that cause a high fever except for the flu. Hope it's just strep though. That usually goes away after a few days of antibiotics. I used to suffer from Strep and tonsilitis all the time. Then I got my tonsils out! Love not having them darn things anymore. Feel better.
