Why do I have problems with breath when I lay down?

Heart problems-17 years old no one will listen?

  • Im 17 years old. I was born with 4 heart problems. They are bicuspid aortic valve, moderate aortic stenosis, mild aortic regurgitation and mild enlargment of the ascending aorta. So now my problem is i get shortness of breath just walking up stairs, or if i walk to fast or for to long with that i will get chest pain and really dizzy. I get chest pain frequentlyIwith or without excercise). I also get dizzy a lot and sometimes everything will go black for 10second then come back and i will have a horrible headache, even just when sitting around i will all of a sudden get really dizzy and just have to lay down because i feel like im going to fall over. also i get heart palpitations. Also i am ALWAYS tired no matter how little or how much i sleep i am always tired, i can sleep 13 hours a day get up and 2 hours later im ready to go back to bed, or i can sleep 8 hours and get up and be tired 20mins later. also i am always hungry, i eat frequently during the day but it seems like im just always hungry. and im not sure if this has anything to do with anything but i also get headaches a lot, almost every day. I have little energy to do anything now. My problem is that my cardiologist isnt listening to me, i switched recently because my old one wouldnt listen either, and the new one ran a cardio-pulmonary stress test and said i was fine and the only thing he saw was my heart rate went up faster then they liked and came down slower then i went to pulmonologist and they said my lungs were perfect so nothing wrong there. So i went back to my cardiologist for my regular check up in april and i explained my symptoms again and all he says is well its not your heart because its not severe enough to cause symptoms yet. I dont know what to do anymore, my parents dont listen anymore since my doctors said im fine and i just dont know what to do. right now im at the point were all i want to do is lay on the couch because i just dont have energy to do anything. This isnt normal for me i use to be out running around, i did gymnastics for 6 years and i had to quit when these symptoms came on because i just couldnt keep up anymore. What can i do? do you have any ideas what might be wrong? Thanks

Well, My Granddad died recently, and he died from Blocked Arteries and Emphysema. I doubt very much you have emphysema, but the blocked arteries is highly possible as your body may produce excess amounts of cholesterol. Just before he died ( not meaning to freak you out or anything) He experiences dizzy moments too, much like the ones you are describing to me here. I would usually advise you to go to see your GP or even the Hospital, but as it seems they are ignoring your condition completely. I would advise you demand to see someone who had expertise in this area, the National Health Service has a duty to help anyone with a health problem. You can sue and demand medical help. Your condition could be more serious than they first thought, and they need to help. Keep me updated if you like, [email protected] I hope you finally get a diagnosis for your condition :) Arrivederci amore mio ;)

Perhaps you have a hormonal imbalance. Have you had lab work done recently? Also you could be suffering from depression. Having chronic health conditions can wreak havoc with your mental health too.
