How do you check your height accurately without the doctor?

I get occasional heart palpitations and have been to the doctor?

  • READ THIS WHOLE THING I NEED HELP I get occasional heart palpitations and I am not sure the cause. I have been to the doctor twice and the heart doctor once. I have had blood tests, and have had a heart monitor on me too. They have found nothing, so I am still in the dark about what is wrong with me. I have been told it is in my head and it is myself making them start. I take vitamin supplements everyday and take saint jhons wort and oxygen supplements. I fear palpitations EVERY DAY I started getting them in 7th grade and now I am a sophomore (I turn 17 in june). I hate them. When I get them I feel really faint and dizzy (like when you sit down for a while and then stand up) and my heart is very uneven and loud then quiet. My face gets tingly and my hands and feet do too. I feel weak and tired and like i'm just losing it.. The last time I got them I lost my hearing for a while (well I couldnt hear well at all) and then I got it back but there was a faint buzzing. That was about the worst time i've ever had with them. I drink alot of water and NEVER EVER have caffiene, I swear to you I would never take that chance. I don't drink, I don't do any drugs. I live a healthy life yet I still get these heart problems. I don't know if it's stress, I sometimes get them in my sleep and wake up with them. I think I got them twice out of fear, and sometimes I start thinking hard and I get them. Sometimes I forget to breathe and I get them. ITS LIKE EVERYTHING CAUSES THEM T__T and i'm so tired of living in fear every-single-day, I just want to be happy! And stress free.. Ugh.. Please help me, please tell me what I can do.. what should the doctors check next? What do you think it is. And if it helps: age. 16 weight. 117 height. 5"3 1/2 I'm naturally pale and I am very sensative to light. If that helps too..

  • Answer:

First of all what is occasional to you? Is it once a week, once a month, a few times a year? That is really important information right there. Secondly I have frequent palpitations and irregular heart beats, so I know what you're talking about. It is possible to bring them on yourself or make them worse than they should be because you're so high strung over it. You won't die from a palpitation, trust me. I've lived though thousands of them by now. I would ask to use an event monitor. It's like the 24 hour monitor but you use it for a month and they give you stickers so you can take a shower and change them out every day. The event monitor will make it more likely for you to catch your palpitation if you're having that frequently. Also I have to wonder if you have a bit of anxiety problem? If you suffer from high anxiety you might want to talk to the doctor because that would offset this too. Just from reading what you wrote it makes me think you do. So I'd look into that as well.
