Hello, I would like to help you find the answer to your question about high blood pressure in teens. I found a link to a resource that might provide the answer to your question about a blood pressure reading of 98/73 being a good/bad blood pressure reading for a teenager. 1) Resource link: http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/guidelines/hypertension/child_tbl.htm - U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, National Institutes of Health, National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute has a helpful resource called, Blood Pressure Tables for Children and Adolescents. 2) Resource link: http://kidshealth.org/teen/diseases_conditions/heart/hypertension.html# - Teens Health - Hypertension (High Blood Pressure). According to these resources, a blood pressure of 120/80 is considered normal for teenagers/adults age 18 and older. Blood pressure readings for teens up to age 18 are considered high if the blood pressure is more than the 95th percentile. A blood pressure reading of 98/73 would be considered near the top of the normal range in teenagers/youths younger than age 18. Your family medical doctor would take your blood pressure at least 3 times to get an accurate reading on your blood pressure to determine if it is high. I am not a medical professional. You might consider consulting your family physician for more information about hypertension and your specific medical history. Your local library should have some helpful resources for you on this topic. Normal blood pressure < 120/80 mmHg. Most normal blood pressures fall in the range of 90/60 millimeters of mercury (mm Hg) to 130/80 mm Hg. But a significant drop, even as little as 20 mm Hg, can cause problems for some people. Your blood pressure is fine provided you have no dizziness and fainting.

anything higher than <120/80 is considered high
