Is this a heart problem ?

A heart problem question, Im so scared, plz answer?

  • I use to have a strong heart beat. When i lay down I could feel my heart beating in my chest. Recently I can't feel my heart beat, I have to check my neck to see that my heart is still beating. I'm 26yrs old, for the first 25yrs of my life i could always feel my heart beat when I lied down. One night, my vision totally opened up, and my heart slowed. I almost felt out of my body. 2 days later my heart went for a trip, I pulsed it at over 220bpm. 10 mins later back to normal. However, I can no longer feel my heart beat. I can sit at the comp, and it feels like my heart isn't beating, and my chect is about to sink in. My blood pressure dropped 20 points within 2 minutes. I'm 6'2 200lbs. I wuz 6'2 242 lbs 6 months ago, High BP either way. Now my heart beats so weak, I feel like I'm going to pass out. I have to wait 11 days to get a halter monitor. I think im going to the hospital b4 that though. wut do u think.

The very fact that your typing this means that your heart is beating well. So dont worry too much. If the heart rate of 220 per minute which you have counted is right, that was a fast rhythm. But it is almost impossible to count more than 140 bpm accurately. Anyway, if you feel unwell, it is better to go to a hospital and get evaluated rather than looking for replies on the internet.

If you are vertical and ventilating, your heart is beating. It may be that you have an abnormal heart rhythm with changing beats between fast and slow. A single EKG may not be enough to make a correct diagnosis. That's why wearing a continuous Holter monitor will check your heart beats continuousky over many hours to check for any irregular changes in the number of heart beats you feel. You're heading in the right direction for a correct diagnosis.

If you feel like you need to have someone take you to the ER. I have SVT and also for 2 months last year my BP and pulse dropped very low for no known reason. After a while it just went back to normal. But if you feel like you are going to pass out, you need to get someone to take you to the ER, just in case.

If you are conscious enough to think about feeling for your heartbeat, your heart is still beating. If it wasn't, you'd be unconscious.
