Why does my heart beat speeds up when I'm hungry?

Im 34 year old male im taking toprolxl 25mg im having speeding heart rate?

  • i was taking lexapro 4 deppression and anxiety now im taking xanax as needed but i still have feelings in my arms and my heart speeds up i cant hold a job because i always wonder when its going to start again i never had any of the problems before one day i ways at work and pain started on the right side where just the other day i had a lympoma removed and now i have all this other starting .he decided my problem was hp and deppressandanxiety but i was going threw a divorce when all this started now i have these problems and they dont go away the xanax helps i want to be right not sick and i believe they give u this stuff to make money not hill u if we all where good health they would be broke so can some one help me its got bad enough im going to loose my home because no one will help i exspect some good info and i want people to tell me if they been experiencing the speeding heart beat 2 ?

    toprol is supposed to slow the heart rate and lower the blood pressure. you need to return to your doctor. the increased heart rate is probably anxiety related...kind of like a panic attack. Divorce is rough. I had panic attacks, and part of it was racing heart when i went through my divorce. They stopped when i got my life back in order. Xanax is sedating more than anything. I took Buspar then Paxil with better results.

I take toprol too for fluttering heart beats. It appears to work. I take a LOT more than you do - 200mg!! My heart beat increased when I was under a lot of stress for many many years. I'm trying to control (via my mind) response to stress, but I'm afraid once broken it never returns to normal. It's amazing how emotions can induce real illnesses.

Good answers here. I'd opt for going back to your doctor and even getting another opinion from another physician. There are other meds that can be used. Everyone is different. Not going to buy into the conspiracy theories even though I have outside interests as well. Look at all areas individually...physical, emotional, lifestyle...and see what you can change.
