Why does my heart beat fast at night?

After a night out his heart beat irregularly???? What's wrong!!!?

• My boyfriend has always had a weird heart beat, but he went to the doctor and they said there was nothing wrong, that it wasn't anything to worry about. What it is, is sometimes his heartbeat is irregular. On friday night we went out for a friends birthday and he drank quite alot. He normally drinks alot when he goes out, but only occasionally goes out drinking anyway, so iv never worried about it. He drank relentless and vodka together, which alot of people i know do, but iv heard bad things about it, like that one slows oyur heart and the other speeds it up. We left a little early because his heart beat was irregular, you could feel it thumping quite hard by putting your hand on his chest, every now and again giving an extra hard thump out of rythmn. He was breathing heavily, and occasionally very quick shallow breaths. I took him home to my house and sat with him until he fell asleep, by which time the beating had gone back to normal. The whole thing lasted a couple of hours. I'm planning on sending him off to the doctor, but should i ask for an emergency appointment? He's back to normal now. I wanted him to go to the doctor sooner,but he kept saying he was fine.

  hi it sounds like he was having a masive panic attack , but having said that if your drinking somthing that slows your heart and then tries to speed it up at the same time you are playing a dangerious game with your health. and your heart , tell him to stay off them type of mixtures, then if it happens again you will know its not that , and he will have to go and get checked out. good luck.
