Infrequent Minor Chest Discomfort?

Chest discomfort or muscle strain?

  • After I had my baby I tried to exercise to quickly and after doing some push ups I felt like I pulled a muscle in the center of my chest just below my breast bone. After a while the pain went away. Then several months later I was in a car wreck and got whiplash and went to physical therapy. After a while there, they had me workout on the machines, one of which was a chest press. Then my chest started hurting again. Only this time it was different. I was a like a quick twinge then it went away. Then I noticed it kept happening again only this time more frequently. The twinge felt like a massive adrenaline rush or anxiety attack. I told my PT people and they said it was probably a pulled muscle. They did some kind of laser treatment on it and later that night I ended up in the ER because the twinge kept coming ever minute or so. The ER did their heart checks on me, x-ray, ekg, stress test and cardiac echo. all came back good. But now, every time I use my arms, like for washing the car, or heavy lifting it starts hurting again. This time no twinge just really sore for like a day or two. How can I get past this so I can workout and lose this baby fat without hurting my chest muscles every time? Could it be something else? My ticker is fine, I just keep getting discomfort every time I exercise my arms and chest. Please help me fix this!!
