Has anyone ever had wine after anesthesia?

I had general anesthesia for knee surgery early today and would love to have a glass of wine. I know most experts say you have to wait 24 hours at least before using alcohol but have any of you ever had wine the same night? I'm craving a glass of wine with my spaghetti carbonera!
