After doing MD you have to pass General surgery it will take 4 years, after passing it 3 more years for heart surgery, total 7 years after MD

Well it takes about 12 years to become a consultant radiologist, so I expect about the same for a heart surgeon.

Prob around 6-8 years ... to be a consultant would be another 10years in the job.. good luck
