    I had open heart surgery when I was four years old and I spent 7 days in the hospital. Now, your daughter is 2 months old so I'm certain that she will be kept longer than that. I would expect her to be kept in the hospital for a couple of weeks. Then at home it will take months for her bones to heal. I had open-heart surgery again when I was 16. I had the surgery in June, and the coming September my friends were carrying my textbooks around for me. After four months I couldn't carry them yet. Your daughter is a baby, so she'll probably be moving around in ways that will make it longer for her to heal. It took me a good 6 months to feel normal.
