Is it normal to have bad gas after heart attack?

Gas or acute heart attack?

  • I was sitting in class slumped over my desk and when I sat up straight, there was some pressure/aching in my chest. It felt like it was pressure on my sternum. Each time I breathed in deeply or exhaled deeply, or tried to pull my shoulders fowards and together (concaving my chest) I would feel the pain/pressure. It lasted for 30 minutes and I was getting pretty nervous but my heart rate seemed normal, until I started to get nervous because then the rate increased. When I stood up, I burped twice and the pressure went away. I took two asprins just in case and it's now been two hours and the pain hasn't come back. I've never experienced that before. Anyone else experience this and gone to the doctor just in case? I'm just wondering if I just experienced a minor heart attack or if it was some sort of gas pain.

  • Answer:

    Sounds like heartburn.
