Why do I have a sharp pain in my lower left arm?

Why do people who have heart attacks sometimes get serious pain in their left arm?

why the left arm, why the pain there? I don't understand...some people having a heart attack grab their left arm in pain, what causes the pain from a heart attack to go there of all places?
