Is this a heart problem ?

Random heart racing? Problem?

• Sometimes when i'm not doing anything, just sitting or laying down, my heart starts racing crazily and i don't know why. It's not like i'm thinking of something scary or i'm nervous, when i'm calm and relaxed, randomly my heart starts racing like crazy and my heart feels really heavy and it lasts for like 5 minutes and then my heart rates back to normal. For example, this just happend last night i was laying in bed ready to sleep. And i was relaxed and nothing out of the ordinary. I wasn't thinking about anything so it's not caused by fear or anything but randomly my heart starts pounding like crazy. and then my heart feels really heavy. It kind of feels like right when you run, your heart is pounding super fast and your heart kinda feels heavy but i don't have that out-of-breath feeling. It's kind of harder to breath but it's not like i'm working hard to get air into my system. I don't really know what the deal is, I'm a healthy 16 year old. My parents told me it could be from stress since i'm doing the IB diploma at school, that could be the cause of it but i'm not quite sure i believe them..ahha any ideas what my problem could be?

  You are sitting or standing all day and when you lay down, your heart adjusts to being in a new position. When you lay down, your abdominal aorta has more pressure on it. Until the circulatory system has time to adjust, your heart compensates by adjusting it's rythm. This is just one possibility.
