Please tell me how I can lower high blood pressure besides using medication. What habits are most important?

I recently found out my blood pressure is going up. It is a hereditary condition in my family. I was hoping the medical community could advise me on what lifestyle would be most important, besides medication that will help lower my blood pressure. Thank you

i'm 56 years old and just quite recently, my blood pressure rises when I use a lot of salt or eat tinned food with preservatives. So, I try to controll my blood pressure by eating fresh food, a lot of vegetables and fruits, little bread (not salty), no preserved food, no cheese at all and instead of salt on meats and fish, I use lemon juice and other spices, drink a lot of fluids and take a little walk (1/2 an hour), after lunch and dinner, the last will help to loose wheight slowly but steadly...by kinvuli

Your blood pressure can be reduced by the following methods: 1. Avoid red meat, ofcourse you can have sea food. 2. Reduce intake of salt. 3. stretch out regularly for atleast an hour. 4. Avoid tensions and abrations with others. 5. Eat more of vegetables cooked or raw. 6. Quit smoking and reduce consumption of alcohol. 7. As an auto suggestion, think you do not have any health problems.
