Emergency Room doctor in Japan?

Ok help please again.. I went to the emergency room last week and the doctor said my blood sugar was 77.?

  • i have had the previous two symptoms of diabetes peeing a lot and drinking a lot. then when i started to get the blurry vision i started to worry so i went to the emergency room and the doctor said i dont have diabetes because my blood sugar was 77. then the blurry vision disappeared again after 4 days. and now i am having it again. Why are my symptoms disappearing and coming back?

  • Answer:

Blood glucose levels constantly change throughout the day in response to eating food, exercising, or resting. A blood glucose level of 77 is not diabetes - its the opposite problem. Diabetes is having chronically high blood glucose levels; what you are experiencing are episodes of low blood glucose levels (hypoglycemia) that are within the normal range of glucose variation. Most likely, your situation is caused by eating foods that are mostly carbohydrates or sugar, or maybe you have been dieting? Think about what you were eating a few hours before the problems showed up. Its usually very easy for most people to manage low blood sugars by avoiding sugary foods and eating small snacks when you feel a sugar crash coming on. Occasionally, some people have an underlying medical problem that causes the blood sugar crashes, but this is not very common.

There are many things that can cause these symptoms. First the thirst and frequent urination, Diet, change in activity level, high salt intake can make you hold on to fluid, then you get thirsty, you drink a lot then you pee. The blurry vison could be insignificant if it dosen't interefere with your activities but you may want to have your blood pressure checked when the symptoms are there.

The best thing for you to do is make an appointment with an internist or diabetes specialist.

Having a blood glucose level of 77 is not an indicator of diabetes. Diabetes is having consistantly high blood sugar, over 125 fasting, 140 after meals, and 200 at any given time. There can be other causes for the thirst, urination, and blurry vision. When these symptoms occur, you should get your blood pressure checked. The thirst and urination can be caused by an excess of salt in your body, and the blurry vision can be an indicator of high blood pressure. A sudden change in diet can also cause some of these symptoms. If it's a recurrent problem, go see your doctor. He can provide more insight than any of us here on Answers! Hope this helps!

Your having anxity over the thought of having diabetes and it going undiagnosed. So your blood sugar was 77 at the ER, that is so normal!! Sometimes people just pee a lot, it isn't always due to diabetes, being thirsty is something that could be from eating salty foods or being hot and it also is a symptom of diabetes but If your blood sugar was 77....?? Blurry vision.. maybe you need glasses, or maybe your tired, go get a glucose tollerance test and put this to rest whether your diabetic or not. Go to the eye Dr. and get checked for vision problems. Sounds like you are hypoglycemic. eat less starches and high glycemic foods (sugar and starches) try to have smaller meals with more good fat and protein in them. An Endocrinologist may run a insulin level test, this is how they found it is me, I would pass the glucose tolerance tests as I had a flat line insulin level. Seems the best thing you can do is get a complete physical with blood work. You need a baseline for your overall health condition. Should the physical find anything then work to improve yourself. But, guessing by diagnosing yourself can be scary and harmful. There are many symptoms that are close for different conditions. You cause more harm than good. This site is a great way to communicate concerns, BUT a doctor's visit is always the way to establish your health level. Best Wishes.
