Can you bring water on a plane now?

Are diabetics allowed to bring water on plane?

  • I have Type 2 Diabetes. Am I allowed to bring bottled water on the plane? Do I need a doctor's note to do this? I have a dog tag that says I'm diabetic. Is that sufficient? Please let me know. Thank you!

  • Answer:

call the airline you are going to fly. the desk attendants can tell you the rules of that particular airline. Sometimes they are different from the airport rules. Note: Be sure to put all your medications in a quart sized zip lock bag. This does NOT count as a carry on. Do not ever put them in your luggage. Luggage gets lost. Luggage areas are not airconditioned either so meds can be ruined.

As far as I know, diabetics need to watch their blood sugar because they either have very low sugar, or are hypoglycemic. Even if I am wrong, they may say the same thing. Usually, you aren't allowed to have any bottled items or liquids that aren't absolutely necessary (oxygen or whatever, doctor's note required). They'll bring you water on the plane if you asked anyway.

you can't bring your own water, you have to buy it after you pass thru security, there are food courts/stands that sell water, you can't bring your own cause you can't prove it's only water.......also water should be made available to you on the plane as well.......

As for your dog tags, I travel a lot and sometimes forget to take of my watch. When I remember I make sure that my wrist is in the middle of the metal detector. I pass fine. However, each airport is a little different. When I remember I remove all metal. Some TSA staff are under a lot of stress listening to all sorts of complaints and stories. I prefer not to become one of them. If you become one of the stories it can be quite unpleasant. I recommend you remove your dog tags. Best Wishes
