Answer:
There are many different meds for diabetes, I suggest you see a doctor and explain what is going on, and he will most likely try you on something else.

It has nothing to with what you are eating as you say it only happens when you are on the medidation. ride the wave for a week or two drink plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration and if it persists go to doctor there are other hypoglycaemic agents that he can rty i see an anwer above....believe me fibre will only make it worse! Fibre makes the bowels move more hence worsen diarrhoea

You can try pepto or other med of this sort. It may help. But it may be the fillers in the generic version that are bothering your system. Different manufacturers use different fillers also known as inert ingredients. I cannot take some of these either. You might check and find a different drugstore that uses a different manufacturer. Or you may have to try the Brand Name version which is Glucophage. It, I had absolutely no trouble with. But the insurance companies like generics.

This medication must be taken BEFORE you eat, to work. Get some yogurt that has live culture in it. Look for one that is sweetened with Splenda, not sugar. Where I live, we use Danone Silhoutte. Take half a Metformin tablet with a serving of this yogurt before your meal. I have read about this method of taking it on several diabetes lists and it works for nearly everyone that tries it, including my husband. Do the same thing again for your next dose of Metformin whether its at lunch or suppertime. Again, take only half the dose. It takes time for your stomach to get used to it and you may to start with a lower dose than most. If that doesn't do it, then ask your doctor to let you try the time released version of Metformin. Please be aware that you cannot split the time released version, so you need to take it whole. If neither works, then its time to start using insulin. Insulin doesn't cause all the side effects the oral treatments do, plus it WILL control your blood sugar once you get on the right dose of the right insulin for you. I'd recommend that you ask about Lantus or Levemir insulin. Both cause less lows than other types.

Try taking a Imodian D. I had it for 1 day when I took it and it went away. Should pass in a few days I was told. check with your Dr.
