Does altering the PH levels higher than 7 in drinking water good for the human body?
-
Recently I was approached by a friend who was claiming a machine he sells can alter the PH levels of drinking water. The claim is PH of 8.5 to 9.5 cleanses the body and is healthier for you. Is this true and if so, how do you do it without his expensive machine?

Answer:
I doubt it will work. Raising the pH of water to that level is just making it 'hard water'. Hard water, to my knowledge, has no health benefits. By the way, higher pH = basic, not acidic; the first answerer had it backwards.

I would think not because anything higher then 7 is getting acidic. 12 is as high as you can go (battery acid) and 8.5/9.5 is getting really close to battery acid. But that's just me. I'm no scientist....plus I don't think it would taste to good.

Your friend is right! Cancers and tumors cannot live in an alkaline system. There are many other health benefits to it also. The water is enhanced by the machine, it is your life, an investment. If you think about it, pay for the machine or pay a Dr. & hospital later when you develop problems. Do some research, find out about testing your PH and organic foods that can help put your body on the right track. There is a bottled water that is 7.2 but I don't see how it would be better than the real thing. Eating the right foods is very important. Try reading "Eat Right 4 Your Type by Dr. Peter D'Adamos. Like I said before, this is not taught in school and most Dr. do not know about this either. It is up to us take charge of our own health, study...you won't regret it! God's strength to you.

I don't think changing the pH of water would do anything to change the healthfulness of the water. I think water is good for you, and you don't need to add anything to it, just drink a lot of it. 8.5 to 9.5 isn't that extreme, so i don't think the pH in itself would be harmful. Sea water has a pH of 8.5 and milk of magnesia is 10.5 so i don't think it wouldn't kill you to drink something with that basic pH. But I've never heard anything to indicate that it would be helpful.
