I hope his health recovers soon. Anyway diabetics is not a disease . It is the malfunction of insulins in body. There are no cure but believe it not. My dad has it from 3 years. But he never takes any insulins he, is healthy. The reason behind this is yoga. Whic is the powerful medicine can ever get. Only thing is your father should decide to do yoga. This will shorely help him. I promise and Iam a guarantee..... Oh oh dont worry . Even my father always scolds me and i hate him........ But you are good one . Diabetes is when ur body does not make enough or stops makin insulin at all, insulin is what controls ur blood glucose levels, if the blood glucose levels are too high there can be very serious side effects, i dont think its a disease but a condition and i dont think there really is a cure rather than those insulin shots he is takin, most likely his liver has stoppes producing insulin and he relies on the injections to control his blood glucose, he can make it better by eating healthier

Diabetes (diabetes mellitus) is classed as a metabolism disorder. Metabolism refers to the way our bodies use digested food for energy and growth. Most of what we eat is broken down into glucose. Glucose is a form of sugar in the blood - it is the principal source of fuel for our bodies. If there is a diabetes cure, you will hear it first from the scientists who have spent a lifetime researching diabetes. A genuine cure will have been tested repeatedly in clinical trials with clear success. The scientists all around the world are working 24/7 to find a cure fast for both type 1 and 2 . And they could find a cure this year , next year or so on . So tell your dad to eat right , do some exercise , take his medicines and listen to what the doctor's say .

Insulin is a hormone central to regulating carbohydrate and fat metabolism in the body. Insulin causes cells in the liver, muscle, and fat tissue to take up glucose from the blood, storing it as glycogen in the liver and muscle. Insulin stops the use of fat as an energy source by inhibiting the release of glucagon. With the exception of the metabolic disorder diabetes mellitus and Metabolic syndrome, insulin is provided within the body in a constant proportion to remove excess glucose from the blood, which otherwise would be toxic. When blood glucose levels fall below a certain level, the body begins to use fat as an energy source through glycogenolysis, for example, by transfer of lipids from adipose tissue to the liver for mobilization as an energy source. As its level is a central metabolic control mechanism, its status is also used as a control signal to other body systems (such as amino acid uptake by body cells). In addition, it has several other anabolic effects throughout the body. When control of insulin levels fails, diabetes mellitus will result. As a consequence, insulin is used medically to treat some forms of diabetes mellitus. Patients with type 1 diabetes depend on external insulin (most commonly injected subcutaneously) for their survival because the hormone is no longer produced internally. Patients with type 2 diabetes are often insulin resistant and, because of such resistance, may suffer from a "relative" insulin deficiency. Some patients with type 2 diabetes may eventually require insulin if other medications fail to control blood glucose levels adequately. Over 40% of those with Type 2 diabetes require insulin as part of their diabetes management plan.

Diabetes type 2 is far more common than type 1. It makes up most of diabetes cases. It usually occurs in adulthood, but young people are increasingly being diagnosed with this disease. The key to control and maintaining glucose levels is diet, exercise and strict adherence to medication. Usually when blood glucose levels are not controlled you have symptoms just like your dad's. If these key factors are not maintained such as diet, exercise and testing, testing, testing to make sure levels are within normal ranges you will have these complications. The pancreas does not make enough insulin to keep blood glucose levels normal, often because the body does not respond well to insulin. Many people with type 2 diabetes do not know they have it, although it is a serious condition. Type 2 diabetes is becoming more common due to increasing obesity and failure to exercise.
