Did I get stung by a bee?

Did I get stung by a bee or bit by a mosquito?

  • I honestly have no idea how I did this. But I think I got sting by a bee. When I say "I think", mean I didn't actually see the bee. It started to hurt and then started to itch. When I looked at it again it was red with little dark red spots. It looked a little blue at the bottom. I am wondering what I did.     If you got stung by a bee, you would have noticed it. They leave their stinger on your skin, and it is very obvious, and since you did not mention a foreign object stuck in your skin, it isn't a bee. That is no mosquito bite. That is a very serious bite. I would go into a small doctor's clinic, or visit your doctor, most certainly. Since is looked a bit blue, that means that your blood vessels in the area are affected. Have a doctor check it out.

I couldn't open your link, but what you describe sounds like neither. Usually with a bee bite, it will hurt a lot, and the stinger will be left in the bite site, with a sac continuing to pump venom. I think this sounds more like a spider bite, and they can be very nasty.
