Am I allergic to Big Red gum?

Why does my nose turn red and itchy when chewing gum?

  • Everytime I chew on gum my nose itches realllllly bad on the inside and out and it turns really red. Am I allergic to it? How do i know what ingredient im allergic to? My nose gets this way with most gum I chew...Dentyne, Wrigleys, Eclipse.. Right now Im chewing on Dentyne peppermint and my nose is itching really bad Ingredients in this dentyne gum: Sorbitol , Gum base, maltitol, mannitol, artificial and natural flavoring, glycerin, acacia, acesulfame potassium, aspartame, bht, candelilla wax, soy lecithin, sucralose, and titanium dioxide. What is the most common allergic ingredient here?

  • Answer:

Well the most common ingredient there for allergies is soy lecithin if your nose just gets itchy then I'd take some Benadryl which can make you tired if you take too much. If you have any life threatening symptoms like itchy throat and trouble breathing the you could be going into anaphlayxic shock which can kill you, so to treat that you would need an Epi-pen. Maybe you should go get tested at the doctors fro an allergy or just tell him/her you are having these symptoms when you chew gum and maybe show him/her the gum package so he or she can tell you just in case I'm wrong. Hope I helped! Bye!
