Which is cheaper, Nasonex or Nasacort?

Nose bleeds after using Nasonex?

  • Ever since I started using Nasonex I keep getting nose bleeds. I have issues with nose sprays my nose always bleeds. Should I stop taking Nasonex? Should I try something like the Neti Pot instead of Nasonex? I personally don't like taking it anyways it does not help neither do my allergy meds (I take Allertec) I have a another nasal spray but I have not used it more then once. Should I stop taking Nasonex and use my other Nasal spray or just use the Neti Pot? I am 14 female and if this matters I am allergic to dogs (I have 4 dogs and next weekend I am getting a Great dane puppy I AM SO EXITED) I am also allergic to cats (I have 3) those are my moderate allergies my sever allergies are to rats (I have one rat) and dust mites (My arm swelled up with the dust Mites lol) DON'T TELL ME TO GET RID OF MY ANIMALS or not to get another dog because were buying a house and were putting in a air filter for the house to keep the air clean:) we are also VERY clean people so thats why my allergys are not sever.

i would ask your doctor about the nasonex and the other nose sprays. your nose might just be dry and irritated from the sprays/allergies but stop using it in the mean time and ask your doc about it. and if you do want to try the neti pot it DOES work :) i have one and it works really well. dont put too much salt in it though and make sure its all dissolved before you use it or else it burns a little. but it works great. ;) congrats on getting a new puppy ^-^ Hope this helps! God bless XD

Nosebleeds are the most common side effect of Nasonex and other inhaled nasal corticosteroids. Much of this side effect has to do with your technique of actually using the inhaler....try to look at the instructions that came with the Nasonex and make any adjustments to your technique if necessary. If you lost the instructions, visit your drug store and ask your pharmacist to assess your technique and offer any tips. I'd also like to point out that drugs like Nasonex will show their full effectiveness against your allergies in 3 MONTHS! These drugs take time to work, and are considered to be the gold standard for allergies, so I'd strongly suggest that you try to stick with it and you'll eventually see results. A neti pot will help to clear congestion from your sinus cavity so you could try using it if your main allergy symptom is nasal congestion. A neti pot will not help with itchy eyes/ears/throat, red eyes, sneezing, cough, or runny nose. Hope this helps
