Swollen glands, runny and itchy nose, what is this?

What does it mean when you have a really sore throat, stuffy & runny nose, and swollen glands under your jaw?

  • I've been like this for a few days. I had a really sore throat the first and second day and on the 2nd day my nose started getting plugged. Now I'm coughing and sneezing added onto the previous symptoms!

    My guess is the all famous STREP-THROAT which is easily treated with the proper oral antibiotics, but if left untreated can become very serious. It can even travel and set up infection in other parts of the body including the heart. I think you should see a DR ASAP and be prepared to have your throat swapped with a Q-tip for a strep test. DO NOT eat, drink or chew gum for about 30 minutes before your appointment as this will alter the strep test and cause it to be negative!! My 2nd guess would be mononucleosis AKA the kissing disease. Either way a trip to the DR is needed. i don't know what it is! it may be step throat! maybe you should see a doctor!

swollen glands could be mononucleosis or kissing disease you should go to the doctor because leaving it untreated will make it worse do you suffer fatigue? if so do go to the doctor or you could just have a cold go to the doctor anyway.

I'd say strep. Open your mouth, look at your tonsils. White spots? Hot pink? Hot pink and white? Strep.

it could be the flu, however it could be cancer. you should see a dr right now.
