Why does my throat feel dry and chalky?

  • Okay well today, it started all in the morning. I was feeling kind of weird at night and when i woke up, i felt little dizzy and just felt icky in my throat. It is night right now and my throat feels tight, dry, and feels like someone stuffed powder or chalk in my throat. I dont have a fever or anything but i still feel bad. My parents think I am just faking since i dont have a fever or a cold. just that my throat feels weird. When I try, i could cough but i dont cough nonstop. I just cough when i feel like it. Please tell me what you think my simpthom is. I dont know why my throat feels this way. Thank you.

    Gargle hot salt water (it has to go down in your throat and tonsils to be effective) BUT do not swallow it or it will make you puke! This may be tonsilitus. The salt should rub against your tonsils and throat getting rid of most bacteria and the hot water should get rid of the bacteria too

It does not sound like you have strep..which is accompanied by fever, and severe pain. It could be a number of things, nothing that anyone can properly diagnose, except for a Doctor. So see a Dr as soon as possible (and they will most likely do a swab to test for bacterial infections.) Meanwhile...Do you have raw apple cider vinegar? If so, gargle and swallow with 2 tsp. every few hours..It's a home health care remedy that always works for me. Or just to soothe your throat, try honey and lemon with warm water...drink away. You might have strep throat, but I'm not a doctor so I might be wrong. You should go get it checked out by your family doctor. If it is strep throat, they'll give you some penicillin and you'll be on your way and better in no time.
