How long does it take for Miralax to work?

Allergic Reaction to Miralax? What to do?

  • So I woke up this morning with a bad rash on my neck and my face is starting to get tight, like it is swelling up. I started taking Miralax this week and this is the only thing new I have put into my body that I do not normally take. Should I go see the Dr or just call? I am at work currently and not sure what to do! Thanks!

  • Answer:

Like others have said, take some benadryl or claritin and drink plenty of water to try to flush it out of your system. Call your dr and discuss - as long as your swelling and rash stop, you don't particularly have to see him immediately as long as he doesn't think its necessary. do not take the miralax again...try prune juice, or putting some mineral oil in some kind of juice.

Stop taking the medicine and drink plenty of water to flush your system and a Benadryl should help with the rash and swelling. You could call your Dr. if it doesn't get better or if things worsen.Try prune juice it is more natural.

This is a sever allergic reaction and you need to call your Dr. now! It could be life threatening. Being a med tech I'm guessing this is your 3rd or 4th dose and that is normally when this happens!

Take 2 or 3 Benadryl or other antihistimine immediately and stop the Miralax until you at least call the doctor.

Definitely go see the doctor, but I would also pick up some benadryl or claratin. They can help you in the meantime.
