How long does it take till all the pepper spray is gone?

okay so my husband just sprayed mase in the room, by accident. he didn't know it was mase, he thought it was a lighter and know were are going crazy with this strong smell. my fan is on also the ceiling fan and the window and i sprayed a lot of air freshener. i dont want to open the door because idont want my mom to smell it and start choking, so my husband and i have no choice but to stay in the room. someone please help. how long will this last?
Answer:

Not too long but you need to wipe everything down with a damp cloth. The spray and the fan has spread the spray over everything. The faster you wipe things off the faster the smell will go away. I love pepper spray, i found one that the mailman lost in my bushes.
