Am I allergic to corn?

Could soy and corn yarns cause allergic reactions?

  • I'm not sure if this goes in the allergy or crafts section... but does anyone know if the newer "soy yarns" and "corn yarns" could cause problems with someone with allergies to soy or corn? I'm not sure if yarn contains the proteins to cause an allergic reaction - or if it is "processed" enough to destroy any proteins. • Answer:

Anything can cause a reaction. The best bet for you would be to try to remember when you started to use one of them and then see how close to the date you started to have the reaction. If you started both at the same time and they are mixed stop useing them and see if the reaction goes away. If you used just one stop using it and see what happens, if nothing try the other and if the reaction goes away with one or the other or both you know what to do. I hope it goes away for you and will save you a trip to find out what is happening.
