What kind of allergy medication can I take while being diabetic?

Is it okay to take my acne medication and allergy medication at the same time ?

  • My acne medication is Doxycycline and my allergry medication is reactine

  • Answer:

To be straight forward with you, that is really something you should contact your doctor about (and not a question to ask on Yahoo answers). A rule of thumb though, is to never take two types of medicine at the same time. Actually (and this might be quite surprising) with many medical and additives, it is not known how they react together. Take your box with cereal as an example. It is know if the substances in that cereal is harmful, but not if those additives are harmful together. But contact your doctor about that, concerning your own safety.

Other answers

Contrary to the other posts, it is only dangerous to take medications together if they have similar effects. I.E. Taking percocet ( a central nervous system depressant that is known to slow breathing) with alcohol (also a CNS depressant that causes slowed breathing) can cause a synergistic effect causing dangerously shallow breathing. Doxycycline is just an antibiotic. Reactine is just another name for Zyrtec, and the two are unrelated. You'd be perfectly fine to take the two together.
