Is there anything I can do at home for constany runny nose?

Can something go wrong if i made a mistake and used the wrong nose drops for a 5 yr old ?

  • ugh like my mom she confuses me and today she called and she was talking ubber fast and told me to get the nose drops and put it in my 5 yr old sisters nose before she goes to bed and the only nose drop i saw was the one in the room on her table !! so i looked at the cover it said nasal drops and im like okay this is it. so she comes home and she;s like where's the nose drop and im like i put it in her nose already turns out it was the wrong one , and she;s freaking out when she didn't say anything about the kids nose drop being in the kitchen shelf wtf so know she;s like im gonna kill my sister smh. like whats gonna happen? i made her blow her nose after i put it in her nose anyways and it was like one drop not alot.

    Most likely absolutely nothing will happen to your sister. Your mom's drops are meant for adults only, but if a single drop (which probably got blown out anyway) got into a 5 year old, it wont do much damage. Next time, just be careful. It's actually your MOM's fault/responsibility because she shouldnt leave something as serious as administering medication to your responsibility.

Well, it's really not your responsibility. Your mother is angry because she didn't control the situation properly. You need to understand that you did your best, so did she, but in the end, it comes down to your MOTHER to take care of HER children. If there is the slightest margin for error in the administering of medication, it should be removed completely. By that I mean: 1. DON'T LEAVE BOTTLES OF MEDICINE LYING AROUND (What if your five year old sister had DRUNK the contents of the bottle that was on her TABLE in her bedroom?!) 2. DON'T RELY ON A PHONECALL TO YOUR CHILDREN TO ASK THEM TO ADMINISTER MEDICATION (what if something does go wrong? Then what? Blame the kid????!!!!) You are not to blame. Your mother needs to firstly call a doctor to make sure that nothing is going to happen. Secondly, she needs to install a MEDICINE CABINET with a LOCK!! Thirdly, if she is going to rely on you (HOW OLD ARE YOU?) to administer DRUGS she should be really clear on which bottle, where it is, how many drops, what time, and where to put the bottle after you're finished so that your five year old sister can't get hold of it. And finally, she needs to apologise to you for asking you to do something that is beyond your duty of care, and for putting the fear of "killing your sister" into you. How ridiculous. She should be more responsible. So go and tell your mother THAT.

Your mom is being over dramatic. No harm. Your sibling may have a stuffy nose, that's all. It really depends on what your sibling needs them for. If it's just for sinuses it's no big deal.

it depends on what the drops were...worst case scenario (depending on what medicine it was) she could lose sense of smell, but I doubt it.
