Is it possible to be allergic to feathers and birds?

Is it possible to be allergic to feathers or birds? I don't sleep on a feather pillow but when I have before the next morning my eyes would be very irritated, watering a lot, and I'd be sneezing a lot. Also when I've spent the night in someone's house who has a pet bird I'll wake up and I can breathe but I have a runny nose and eyes that are very irritated.

Yes for sure, I won't sleep on feather pillows any more. It's probably a reaction to mites as birds and bird feathers and down comforters etc will have mites.
