Home Remedies for Seasonal Allergies?

Home remedies for horrible allergies!?

  • I need some sort of home remedies for allergies! I'm allergic to EVERYTHING... If I'm not constantly on medicine; my lips chap horrible bad, I sneeze my face off, my nose runs, its absolutely horrible. The worst part is that I have recently become allergic to antihistamine that is in most allergy medicines, therefore; I have been forced to suck up my allergies and live with it which is a complete nightmare! Any suggestions about medicines that DO NOT have antihistamine or home remedies would be great! Thanks! (:

Geez I would be going crazy. I have horrible allergies as well. I may not be of much help but you need to get all the rest you can possibly get. even if this means being in bed for 4 days straight. You're body's defense mechanism toward allergies is stress; therefore, you need to be replacing that lost energy with plenty of sleep and rest. Honey works wonders for the body. It's all natural. I would drink plenty of hot tea with honey. It soothes the throat and will start to clear up the sinus cavities with the steam. I drink Celestial Sleep time tea. It contains Chamomile and other natural herbs that work best with your body. Warm damp wash clothes over the face will open up the sinus cavities as well. Sweat. This will be the most important thing. I know this may seem gross but bury yourself under your covers and let your body sweat. In this process, you're sweating out all the bad in your body. Really, try the sweating thing. I guarantee you'll feel a little bit better. I wish you the best of luck and I hope you get rid of those stubborn allergies!!

Most people associate allergies like hay fever with external triggers like pollen or dust, but the cause is usually a food allergy. Your best bet is to find out what you’re allergic to and avoid it. Make your own observations and pay close attention to symptoms.Try an elimination diet, and keep a food diary - it’s a slow process, but finding the cause of my allergies changed my life. Cut out all foods that commonly cause allergies for two weeks, ie Dairy, soy, nuts, wheat, shellfish. If you still have symptoms after cutting those food out, cut out any other foods you suspect. If you are symptom free after two weeks, gradually start adding those foods back to your diet. If your symptoms return after you have started eating something, then you know that is the cause. Dairy is a very common cause of allergies, it produces mucus and is very hard on your respiratory system. My chronic allergies are 100% better since I eliminated dairy from my diet. When cutting it out remember it’s not just milk, any cheese or anything cheese flavoured, ice cream, butter, chocolate etc. Also be patient as symptoms can take a few hours or days to appear or disappear. Also avoid other things that trigger allergies - highly scented products like perfume, spray deodorant, fabric softener.
