My nose is always stuffed up?

Why Is my nose Always Stuffed Up?

  • My nose is always stuffed up! ALWAYS!! My doctors have given my veramyst to take, and it helped for a little while, but it doesn't any more. I have seasonal in the spring. I have hay fever, and I'm allergic to pennicillian. My parents are really careful to make sure the house doesn't have anything to make me sneeze, or to make my allergies act up. However, for some reason, I am ALWAYS stuffed up. I can't smell a lot of things, which stinks. My veryamyst has gotten to the point where it doesn't help me at all. I also can't sleep at night while breathing through my nose. I have to sleep with my mouth open, so I get a sore throat a lot. Please help! ~ Ally

I know this will sound too simple to believe, but it has worked for me and is worth a try. Vitamin C is an immune booster - it usually even says this on the bottle. When you have allergies, it means that your immune system isn't able to get rid of, or handle, something that you are sensitive to. Take extra vitamin C and see if this helps.. It should work within a few hours. Vitamin C cannot be stored in the body, so you cannot overdose on it - you pee out what you don't need - making it very safe. Because you can't store it, it is best to space out vitamin C throughout the day. Take 1- 2 grams in the morning, some in the afternoon and some at night.. you can take up to 7 grams - after that, although it won't hurt you, itcan give you the runs.. so, stay under 7 grams.. My brother took claritin for months because of cat allergies, but told me that the Vitamin C not only worked better for him, but had no side effects. Also, when you have allergies, your body makes histimine -which is why we take anti-histimines. You make histimines in the mucus membranes of your body - eyes, nose, gut. This is why people with allergies often have itchy water eyes and stuffed up noses.. because you make much of the histimine in your eyes and nose means that you can actually rinse it out! Allergies usually effect my eyes, and I have had a lot of relief from just splashing cold water in my eyes - the cold water helps with swelling, feels good and rinses out the histimine. Some people try nasal rinses.. but if you didn't want to do that, it still might help to rinse your eyes and get rid of some of the histimines in your body.. hope this helps!
