What would cause an annual outbreak of hives?

  • For about the past week, i've been breaking out into hives at random times, in random places(mostly my legs and feet, my arms too), and they just wont stop. I've taken Benydril, and it helps but i get really drowsy, and i dont havnt tried or gotten anything new to cause an outbreak, so how do i make them stop? PS- I think i'm getting a cold too

    I am in the same situation right now. I have been breaking out in hives since the 1st of the year. the break outs happen at night while I am sleeping, and tend to clear up during the day. After the 3rd week of this and no signs of getting better I went to the doctor, she called it idiopathic hives, meaning we don't know the cause, as I have not changed anything. She gave me a 12 day round of prednisone and 14 supply of a new allergy pill Xyzal. Well let me tell you that very night I did not break out, it was wonderful. I am now on my 10th day of prednisone which is the lowest dose I have teaken so far and I did break out again last night, not bad but they did come back. So I fear once the meds are done I will be in the same situation as before. The Doc. told me to go see a dermatoligist, but I can't get in till April. Can't deal with this until April.

I have had that a few months ago, went to the doctor and he told me that in 90% of the cases they can't figure out what causes hives, you should just use benadril cream not the pills, it will disapear just as fast as it came and you will probably never know why you had it, it could be stress related or some type of allergic reaction. Just try to relax, it will go away, good luck!

you should see the hospital then they would give you some type of medicine you will have to drink..... like pills.
