Why am I getting so many bloody noses?

Why am I getting bloody noses when I blow my nose?

  • Its not every time but I got 2 today alone. When I was little I got them all the time, I didn't even have to blow my nose and got them. The dr said my capillaries were close to the surface but I grew out of it a long time ago.

  • Answer:

I am not sure where you live but it could be dry air. Normally in the winter time if the heat in the house is a dry heat and there is not enough moisture in the air it could cause this. Get a humidifier for your house or your bedroom. That should help.

When you blow your nose too often it gets bloody because its too rough on it so it bleeds. And if you didn't blow and you have bloody noses, its because you didn't get enough water, you ate too much sweets, or you are too hot.

I too was a child who had to have my nose "claterized" more times than I can remember... from time to time, I too still get them - Is it dry in your home/work? It's bad in MN this time of year. Try a humidfier, or a pot of water on the stove on med-low (check often as water evaporates). Also, are you blowing your nose too hard? Change in meds, stress.. those too could be causes to your nose.

Use a humidifier when you sleep.

Dry air makes that happen. Try a humidifier. Also, try putting a tiny bit of vaseline in your nostrils.
