Dust mites will always be where you live, just like bacteria. The best thing you can do is maintain them by some routine cleaning. Here are a few things you can do to keep them under control: 1. Dust regularly. Dust is composed mostly of dead skin cells that flake off your body. This, along with fungi, is what they feed off of. 2. Wash your bedsheets often, and wash them with hot water. This will kill their eggs and sanitize their droppings. 3. Get rid of floor rugs, or change your carpet to wood. You would be amazed at how many dust mites breed in carpet and rugs. If you can't vacuum 1-2 times weekly. 4. Keep your bed covered up with a comforter, and vacuum it with a handheld vacuum if you have one. Same with pillows and the mattress itself. 5. Try to keep a dry environment, if your skin permits it. Eggs thrive in moist conditions, and bacteria too. 6. Throw away your pillows every 1-2 years and buy new ones. Don't bother washing them. They also sell anti-microbial pillows and pillow covers which may help. I have extremely sensitive skin and eczema, and good hygiene and cleaning helps keep the itching under control. It seems like a lot of things to worry about, but it's not that bad if you do a little at a time throughout the day and week.

You can't see them anyways so you're just freaking out. They aren't evil, and they don't make you itch. Just vacuum with a decent cleaner every so often, and wash your sheets regularly, and thats all you can do.

go to walmart or biggs, kmart whatever is in your area and in the isle where they sell vacuums and shampooers they have a dust mite powder I seen some the other day while buying vacuum bags.It sounds like you are allergic to them I have to keep an allergen mattress cover on my sons bed and allergen pillow cases it keeps the dust mites from getting to him while he is asleep.Don't keep pillows longer than 6 months I don't mean to freak you out but have you ever noticed how a pillow gets heavier with time, flatter but heavier? It's because the dust mites eat dead skin and then well what goes in must come out so they fill pillows and mattresses with their feces. So get those covers get the powder and vacumm you mattress and couch often.Good luck!

you need oil water and vinegar.... hot water though. its might stink for the first night or two, but you just mix it together, and spray it ALL over your bed and clothes. the little stuff gets trapped in oil, drowns/suffocates, if that doesnt kill em the vinegar does =)
