Is it possible to be allergic to cigarette smoke?

  • is it possible to be allergic to cigarette smoke? because when i inhale cigarette smoke i faint or become really dizzy and feel really ill, i've just assumed its an allergic reaction but people have told me its a load of bullshit.. i know i Pretty much answered my own question but i just want some peoples opinions on the matter, so is it possible?

The most common thing to be allergic to are pollen, molds, dust mites, animals and different kinds of food. So you might be allergic to cigarette smoke, but the smoke might also "just" trigger another allergy you already suffer from - the same thing can happen with perfume or pollution for instance.

I believe it is. Had a girlfriend who said she was allergic to it. Proved to be true when she met my chain smoking mother and became ill.

It is medically proved that it is possible to be allergic to cigarette smoke. Especially is you are exposed prolonged time and if you are in young age you may get allergic reactions. But those usually are not so bad as fainting, its rush around the nose, itching feeling, short breathing, vomiting etc.

Most people that say they are allergic to cigarette smoke just don't like it or they are trying to act like they are better than the people that smoke. I don't smoke but I have found that smokers actually are far better employees at task related jobs than non-smokers. Why- I have no idea? Non-smokers tend to whine a lot. Like me.

Woo ooo!!!! I thought I was the only one. I cough sneeze the roof of my mouth gets really itchy I faint and I vomit it's nasty. I'm allergic to loads of things. I love animals but I think I'm allergic to dogs :( I keep asking my mam for an allergy test even though they hav to take blood but I don't care cause she says if I'm not allergic to cats we might look about getting a kitten yay!!!!

Smoking can bring on lots of different diseases. You can develop breathing problems like asthma. Allergic? Maybe not but, your body wasn't designed to inhale smoke all the time. It sounds like smoking is starting to take its toll on you. I would quit now before it's too late.
