How do you get over an allergy?

How do u get an epi pen prescribed without a known allergy?

• The reason I ask is because some people have allergies that they don't even know about, i was thinking that it would be wise to carry one with you just in case one day u need it, how do u get one prescribed without a known allergy, I'm thinking better safe than sorry right?? Or you could be somewhere and far from a hospital something may happen to where you have an allergic reaction to something and need that but since they wont give you one without it being prescribed how could you carry one just in case you do have an allergy to something. or what if someone you are with needs one? like my mother she is allergic to bees and has no medical insurance it would be pretty messed up if we were out somewhere and she got stung and we are far away from a hospital my mother could be in serious trouble and i wouldn't be able to do anything to help her that's messed up. why don't they just give them over the counter? i mean it's not like you are going to abuse the epi pen who would? i mean are they afraid that people are going to go around stabbing themselves in the leg to get high? i mean are we going to have epi addicts if it's sold over the counter?

  Epinephrine is a drug that has many uses, anaphylaxis and cardiac to name two. Obviously they can't be handed out like candy. If your mother is allergic that is one thing, if she experiences anaphalyxis then she needs an epipen prescribed for her and she needs to find a way to purchase it. Aside from that an ambulance can be called for a reasonably quick response and the proper treatment.
