Why does my nose run EVERY time I eat?

Why does my nose run all the time and how do i stop it?

• My nose just seems to run all day long, every day, all year long. This has been going on for years (atleast since the beginning of high school, so over 10 years). I'm so fed up with it, and I want to stop it, but i don't know the cause or what to do about it. It's not always running to the point of dripping; most of the time, I just feel the drop resting on the edge of my nostril and find it irritating until I wipe it away. I have a tissue box in every room of the house, and find tissues all over (my husband hates it, lol) and handfuls in my pants pockets every time I do my laundry. I'm sure part of my constant need for a tissue is probably just psychological problem and habit by now, but nevertheless, everytime I wipe or dab my nose with a tissue, it always leaves a wet spot...so it's not just a "hallucination" or anything like that...my nose really is running. I couldn't have been having a cold for 10 years non stop. It happens in the winter and summer; the problem doesn't increase or decrease in allergy season; there doesn't seem to be any pattern to it. I don't have any other signs of being allergic to anything (i've lived with pets, without pets, with a dusting neatfreak and a slob). Blowing never does anything; if it blows the drop sitting there out, another one just comes along and takes its place. Only about a total of 5 times in my life have I bummed an allergy pill off of a friend to see if it works. I never take a 2nd dose because it never helps my funny nose and always seem to just make me especially drowsy (even the non-drowsy ones). I'm willing to add a 2nd pill to my daily regamine if it means my nose would stop running for 10th stinkin' minutes. But I don't know what the problem is so I don't know which pill to try.

  have you mentioned this to your doctor? if your on an allergy pill is it the D format? and the good kind that you have to get from behind the counter? the new form doesn't do any thing for me funny thing is for me the alergy pill that works the best is the knockoff Zyrtec D from sams lol
