How long do hives last ?
-
My friend and I ate at tgi Fridays for her birthday and her face has just broken out in lots of bumps which I think may be hives. We ate a lot of different foods so we can't pinpoint what is. It's only on her face and I told her to drink lots of water and take allergy medicine so about how long would it last for?

Answer:
From personal experience, hives can last anywhere from an hour to two or three weeks. If she still has it tomorrow she should go to a doctor. If her throat starts to close up, obviously take her to the hospital. In the meantime, water and allergy medicine should be just fine :) hopefully it'll clear up soon.

if she takes benadryl, which blocks thehistamine causing the hives, it should clear up in a few hours. if it doesnt, have her seek medical attention. it may not be hives if thats the case.
