Do i have deviated septum?

How do I know if I have a deviated septum?

  • okay so I've had a lot of sinus problems and a lot of allergies I am unaware of. I have had sinusitis 6 times, and know I'm allergic to dust, but other than that I'm not sure. I get bloody noses all the time, and one side of my nose is always running and I can't breathe at night. I also cough up blood from my sinuses which is probably unrelated but just in case. I went to an ENT who couldn't find a problem but that was about a year ago. I have on an off done drugs for about 3 years and for the past 8 months I was snorting pills very intensely and started doing coke. Please don't judge me because I know it is wrong and have stopped and am doing my best to stay away from it. I also had cancer 4 years ago so I question if my continuous allergies and sinus problems are stemmed from that. As a lot of it began after that. The sinusitis was all basically right before I found out I had cancer. But yeah basically, one side of my nose runs, it's always bleeding, stuffy at night. It gets so dry sometimes from bleeding that it hurts to even breathe out of it! I use astelin and neti pot and it doesn't really help. Those are my symptoms if you didn't feel like reading the rest, but if you're medically trained at all, the rest might help you to read. by the way, like I said, I've been to about a million doctors. If you don't have the slightest clue yourself, then don't give me an answer.

  • Answer:

There's hardly a person alive who doesn't have some degree of septal deviation. In any event, a deviated septum would not cause bleeding. Go back to the ENT; you've been doing drugs since seeing the specialist and it's probable that he will find some damage. If you haven't had allergy tests and the desensitizing shots, I would heartily recommend that path. Best of luck to you.
