Has anyone had an allergic reaction after holding a frog?

  • Yesterday, I had an allergic reaction to something, and I am trying to find out what it was. I think it might possibly be from one of two new types of frogs that I touched yesterday. My left eye swelled up pretty badly, and I got a throbbing headache that would not go away. This morning, my eye was still a little swollen, but it is gone now. I was wondering if anyone else has had a reaction to a frog before. The two frogs I touched were a Whites Tree Frog (Also known as a Dumpy tree frog) and a pac man frog. Any information would help. Thank you.

    My daughter has the same reaction. Simple advice don't touch frogs. We even have it listed as an allergy on school forms, dr, and at camp.Her Dr. said it is rare but does happen.

no but u should get to a doctor becuz some frogs are poisonous.

Usually there is no secretion of any toxic substance by frogs, but toads do by their skin, so if you have had a contact with a toad, then it is possible to have an allergic reaction.
