Does anyone have Celiac Disease?

Does anyone have celiac disease?

  • I'm a teen who is allergic to wheat rye barley and oats. And I feel alone. does anyone else have Celiac disease? I hope someone answers me! I would really like to talk. Thanks.

  • Answer:

I have Celiac. Was diagnosed a year ago. There are a couple great sites out there where Celiacs can vent, share stories or provide good gluten-free options. Weareceliac.org Facebook (they actually have a very good group of Celiacs on there) with A LOT of pertinent topics. You can also talk to me. I have found it extremely hard to have a social life, but am trying to adapt and learn how to stick up for myself :P Best of luck, Crystal

Celiac is more common than it used to be, my step Dad has celiac disease. I know that the disease can make you feel very isolated especially since food brings people together and when you can't eat a lot of the things others can eat it can isolate you. My step Dad has a local pizza place that makes him special pizza's using his dough he gets in the mail. If you don't have anyone in your area that has it, perhaps the celiac disease foundation can help you find others in your area. There might even be a support group in your area or they could tell you how to start one. http://www.celiac.org/
