Am I allergic to pineapple?

Allergic reaction to pineapple ?

• so i cut fresh pineapple two nights ago and i ate it and my tongue and roof of my mouth burned but this happens to many people who eat fresh pineapple. when i ate it last night it did the same thing and i got a slight headache however this morning i woke up and my upper lip was huge. i put ice on it throughout the day and the swelling has gone done. my question is was this an allergic reaction to pineapple?

  I would be highly suspicious this is indeed an allergy. Just in case, please call and speak with your doctor, and perhaps get a referral to see an allergist. You might have other allergies as well. I would NOT eat any more pineapple without a doctor's approval. Allergies can be life threatening, and having your throat close up on you isn't really worth it. I'm sorry you had this kind of reaction, because pineapple tastes really good and you may really miss not being able to eat it again. Good luck and health to you.
