Allergic to guinea pigs or not?

Could I be allergic to my aunts Guinea Pigs?

My aunt got two Guinea Pigs named Marley and Max and for some reason after hold Max I got a rash or something on my neck. I have been near Guinea Pigs when I was younger but I HAVEN'T touched them. I've never had this problem with my little sisters hamster or with any hamster I've had. But it itched and then I was coughing more than I am now. I'm guessing it was hives but it looked like bed bug bites or something, but the Guinea Pigs are CLEAN from fleas or other insects. I'm not really shore. Could I BE allergic to my aunts Guinea Pigs? Note: I didn't wake up and hold them I held them before bed and got the rash or something a minute later.
