Do I have a slight latex allergy?

Would you consider this a latex allergy?

• I want to have sex with my boyfriend (i'm 18) and i want to make sure i use a condom. However, i think i might have some sort of latex allergy. The last time i wore a band-aid, it left a red mark on my skin for weeks. Also this one time my friend snapped me with a rubber band and my skin from where the rubber band hit and it inflated. Should i try and have sex with a latex condom? Is this an allergic reaction? Nothing happens with like balloons and those are latex.. I don't think getting tested for a latex allergy is an option. Need advice!

  it sure sounds like a latex allergy I have a severe reaction to latex That is how I reacted as a child,later I worked for 12 years in the dental filed. That caused it to get worse. A simple blood test will show for sure.Just don't take any antihistamines 72 hours prior to the test. It will mess up the results. It is very dangerous to use it even if you only think you are may not react to latex. Try Lamb skin condoms rather than risk latex ones. My son also has a latex allergy,his isn't as bad as mine.The allergist said in time it could be.Latex allergy reactions can be slight to deadly.He said avoidance is the only safe thing to do about it. The medical field is starting to recognize how bad latex reactions can be.Yet there are many who think it's over reacting.In time they will see the facts are for real & not in a person's mind. Our allergists recommend we carry Dye Free Benadryl Predisone Epi Pens ( thought we are allergic to the sulfa they use to preserve them with) stay safe & get some Lamb skin condoms..most drugstores & some chain stores carry them where the latex condoms are sold.
