Injections for astmatics allergic to animals.?

• ok so i'm 17 and have been astmatic my whole life. i hate it so much and believe it ruines my life. If i excersise in a normal place, i.e outside in the cold or in the sun my astma does not get any worse and i think it helps it i dunno if its in my head or not. cold weather and a few others things trigger my astma but the main thing is dogs and cats. i couldnt be in a house even for a couple of hours with a cat or dog without gasping for air. the bad thing is i have to live with a dog and there is no way my mum would give her up as she is loved very much, she doesn't affect me too much as it is a yorkshire terrier. but i can still feel my astma is not fully relieved. ive heard that there are aniaml allergy injections out there to prevent allergic reactions to animals and i saw it could help astma. does anybody out there know whether these injections could help my astma allergy towards aniamls? i think that the astma is the only allergy i have to the animals although my back and shoulders sometimes flare up with spots when i am at home and clear up when i go out. if anybody out there has any information about these injections please tell me. also, if you know how i could go about gettin these injections. thank you for any advice. i hate my astma so much and i feel if i iddnt have it id be so much more succesful and it stops me going to some partys etc because im scared of gettin really weezy cheers

  The injections work for some and don't work for others, so basically it's a 50/50 chances whether it'll work or not. I have quite a few allergies, but I don't deem them that much of a risk (whereas you said you gasp for air). Have a chat with your doctor about it, he/she can point you in the right direction & give you details of who you should see for the injections.
